Chris Colfer found out he was leaving Glee via Twitter!

Chris Colfer has mixed feelings about leaving Glee after next season. He says that he found out about his character's [Kurt Hummel] graduation on Twitter! He says to Access Hollywood, "I didn't necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can't be there forever."

So how does he feel about leaving the show? "I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon, but I mean, it’s fine. It’s what it is. And all things come to an end." It seems like a far cry from co-creator Ryan Murphy's statement, "We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that [it] was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top."

Chris is definitely leaving whilst on top. He just received an Emmy nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy. Chris says, "As a performer, I feel so fulfilled. It’s just a huge category. It’s Best Actor in a Comedy, and we all know that Kurt’s not funny, so I’m very, very happy to be a part of it."

Lastly, Chris adresses the rumours that there will be a Glee spin-off for his character, "I've only heard rumors, I’m not attached to anything officially. So, we’ll see where that goes."

Several Glee stars will leave after next season

Cory Monteith
Come next season some of our favourite members of the world's most famous Glee club will be leaving. Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith won't be returning for the fourth season. Their characters Rachel Berry, Kurt Hummel and Finn Hudson will graduate high school and leave glee club New Directions.

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter that "we made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that [it] was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top." Ryan has said that more students will be graduating high school, their identities will be revealed at the season 3 Glee premiere, September 20th.

Lea Michele
The only one that Ryan hasn't talked to is Cory, but he doesn't worry about that talk, saying "he knows he was a sophomore when the show started."

Chris Colfer
The reason why some cast members are leaving is due to the integrity of the show. "You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not bein realistic," Ryan said to The Hollywood Reporter, "or you can be really true to life and say, when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year."

Should we worry about the careers of these break-out stars?

Next season Chord Overstreet won't be a regular on Glee.

Chord Overstreet.
Last season Chord Overstreet joined the cast of Glee as a regular guest star, but coming season we'll have to do with a whole lot less of transfer student Sam Evans, since he's role won't be continued. There is a chance that Chord will be featured on Glee as an occassional guest star. Chord, 22, tweeted "Well its been a good yr too bad its over. Time for summer and starting fresh."
